Vacancy

Fairy garden is installed and available for any tiny fairy creatures. Interested party may contact us to discuss terms. This could be addicting-I am looking at all discarded objects as potential fairy garden furniture. Next project-teeny swing to hang from rhododendron.

A new home

I've been wanting to start a fairy garden for a few years and kept looking around for the right supplies at different stores. Finally I have decided the time is right to use found materials that I've had on hand. And the finished product-----just what I had in mind!

Graffiti

I was trying on a dress today at a local department store and looked at my back-end in the mirror and felt a little discouraged. Then this little hand written graffiti caught my eye on the wall. Made me smile but apparently they have never seen my back end!

Happy Birthday baby boy!

Today is our baby's 28th birthday. It seems like it was yesterday on a sunny morning in May, we were bringing him home from the hospital. The years have flown by and now he is a grown man with a fiancée and a bright future and proud parents. But then-a part if me wishes he was still that sweet baby boy!

Now this is a breakfast! Eaten outside in a beautiful setting surrounded by loved ones. Bloomington has a LOT of diverse restaurants that are situated in renovated bungalows---all unique in character and all loaded with good food. This one was called Runcible Spoon and it had a charming patio where the front yard used to be.

Love

Bloomington Indiana was yarn bombed! Oh my do I love this and I am picturing this in my very own yard!!! It's just that I have so many projects going on that a Sweater for a tree is low on my priority list!

We had a beautiful weekend. A few birthdays were celebrated, a few Mothers were honored, a few bikes were ridden, too many calories were consumed, and a lot of happy memories were made. We spent the weekend in Bloomington with Adam and Jonelle and her family. Weather was great and we were able to do a lot of outdoor things like visiting the Farmer's market, riding our bike, shoppping and eating outside(I love to eat outside). We celebrated some precious people's birthdays--Adam, Jonelle and Jonelle's nephew and ended with a scrumptious Mother's Day brunch. Then we packed up the car and our tomato plants and came home to a cookout with Matthew and a beautiful Calla Lilly! And a surprise package from my brother! A Queen Bee mug!

More Bees and Magglio

We installed 3 more bee hives last Sunday. This time we purchased established colonies that came with honey laden frames. And these bees are Russian--disease resistant and supposedly more aggressive. We forgot our Bassett Hound was tethered in the shade and noticed he was jumping and twitching-and covered with bees. Poor guy couldn't get the bees off until we held him down and brushed him off! He was traumatized and shaken--but no signs of stings. Later that afternoon he kept twitching his long Bassett ear and I examined it to look for a sting----and a bee fell out! It probably couldn't get out because of the long ear and was still alive. And no sting! Poor Magglio recieved lots of TLC all day!

Baseball-old style

Huzzah!! The Wood County Inmates Vintage Baseball team traveled to Cincinnati to play the Cinci Red Stockings and the Cinci Buckeyes and their loyal cranks tagged along! A crank is a vintage word for unruly fan! Fun day. Double Header and Double Treat. Two games and both my husband and older son played. Actually triple treat because we were joined by youngest son and his fiancé!

Muguet des Bois

When I was young, one of my favorite perfumes was one my Mom would buy for me called Muguet des Bois by Coty. I found out later it meant Lilly of the Valley. After we were married, she would bring us a bouquet of Lilly of the Valley she picked from her garden And these beauties are from starts she transplanted from her garden to ours.i wonder if Coty still makes Muguet des Bois?
