The pantry is growing

It is very satisfying to see my pantry getting full with jars of veggies from my garden. And those tomato plants keep producing so we keep canning!!

North Central Trail

This is a pic from our vacation---it's the bicycle trail that we love-a trail that wanders through the beautiful area. Michigan does a wonderful job of creating and maintaining bicycle trails.

Oh no!

The tomatoes are no longer safe now that Magglio found out they are tasty! They are the first thing he goes for when we let him out. And tonite he is sporting a green snout from the vines and all he wants to do is go back outside!

Preserving

I think canning has become my part time occupation but come the winter months, the payoff will be appreciated. Today's project was sweet peppers and so far I have a pantry full of pasta sauce, whole tomatoes, salsa, jam, and dilled beans. Next---tomato soup for the freezer!

Sailing class!

This was the hub of all activity in Harbor Springs today. There was a sailing class going on and it looked like most of the summer people's kids in the under 10 age group were in attendance. And the nice looking teen age boys were attracting a lot of onlooking from the young teenage girls. One by one, life jacketed kids ran and picked out a sailboat and the lessons began!

Yum

We are Up North and more importantly-at American Spoon eating gelato! My favorite 2 flavors-chocolate and ginger. They have a new flavor called Wildflower Honey and Dan got that and shared. That will be my choice tomorrow!

New Project

A new project is getting ready to go on my needles. And a finished project is getting ready to be seamed together. Both projects-the cardigan and this beautiful pumpkin colored wool is from the same company -Cascade Eco Wool. The cardigan was my first cabled project and I am really proud of it. It's a bulkier yarn and was a quick knit---an interesting pattern that never left me bored. I just hope I have patience and skill to seam it nicely. I tend to rush through that step!
