I realize this blog may be getting a bit racy lately! But this is history! We visited the US National Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. Some of these warplanes have some great artwork like this WW2 bird. But this could be a great name for a berry farmess!

What in Sam Hill??????-----------I have some apologizing to do. I mentioned to a co-worker that we had an unusual, frog in our pond that had a smaller frog on it's back. She laughed and said that the male frog is smaller than the female and what I had was-----frog's mating. Yup, apparently yesterday's post contains frog porn. So, What in Sam Hill was I thinking?????? Or is it "what in Sam Hell was I thinking"""""""????

"He ain't heavy---he's my brother" If you don't remember that song, you are not a baby boomer. We saw this strange sight in our backyard. Not sure why the still developing frog was on the back of the big frog, but I really want to think that the big guy saw a frog in need of a little lift---or TLC--or comforting. I really want to think that is what is happening here.

I have been wondering why I am so tired this afternoon ---and then I looked at my pictures and I think I know the reason why. We have had a wonderfully, full weekend.

We came home after Mass to a do-it-yourself-Omelet Bar!

We had the "kids" working on toys from the Easter Bunny!

We had a high tech geocaching search for the golden egg. Those are "the kids"

We visited Comerica Park and sat in the drizzle. The cold drizzle. The cold, windy drizzle. The cold, windy, continuous drizzle. You get the picture. This is my Tiger--Magglio Ordonez. So much a favorite that I named my dog after him. Magglio had to play in the drizzle. The cold, windy drizzle. The cold, windy, continuous drizzle. But he was the DH so he got to sit in the dugout with the overhang a good portion of the time.

The next day we visited the Mud Hens at Fifth Third(crazy name) Field. It was warm. Warm and sunny. Flip flop warm.
That is a crown on my husband's head. It was a giveway item at the gate!

Happy, Blessed Easter everyone.

At one time I was THE BEST MOM IN THE WHOLE WORLD! Not just the world but the Whole world-and that covered a lot of real estate! Then my adoring fans became teenagers and the title was removed! I found this tucked away in a box of important papers while looking for my credentials to take to get my license back-and by the way-I passed my driving tests!

This is me studying. And it is a good thing you can't see my face because you would notice black smudges under my eyes-like what happens when you cry and mascara runs. I thought I would be on top of things and checked my drivers license to see if I had to renew thus year-only to discover I had to renew---last year. So I am a girl without a license-until I take the written and driving exam. Anyone have any orange cones I can borrow?

Wait there's more------from the Henry Ford Museum! There I was---sitting in the exact same seat that Rosa Parks refused to move from on on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama! It is one of the newest exibits at the museum.

A quick history lesson. On this day several momentous events occured. The Titanic hit the infamous iceberg, Abraham Lincoln was shot at the Ford Theater and I was born. Not all in the same year, of course. And to bring it all full circle, we took a little getaway to Henry Ford Museum where I was able to get a picture with 2 of the above events. This is me standing next to the actual chair that Abraham Lincoln was sitting in at Ford's Theater. I can't help but notice the irony of that-----FORD Theater and Henry FORD Museum. Sorry, no artifacts from the Titanic.

It was 150 years ago today that the first shot was fired in the Civil War at Fort Sumter, off the Charleston Coast. And it was 148 years ago this summer that we visited Fort Sumter and Charleston. I will always consider Charleston one of the most beautiful places to visit---and they sure know how to make us Northerners feel welcome!!

Sweet!!!! This little bunny couple came off my knitting needles, boarded an airmail plane and flew to Bloomington Indiana where they have taken up residence with some people near and dear to us! They did send a picture when they arrived so I know they are happy in their new surroundings. But i do miss them and so there is a new bunny couple taking shape on my needles.

It's duck mating season---and although, I am not going to post any pics of illicit activity---there is a lot of well, "goings-on" in the pond. Mrs Duck is pretty smart though----she found a perch on the neighbor's roof and this gave her a good view to watch Mr Duck frantically searching---and not finding her!

It's Hungarian Pastry making time---for Easter. I found the handwritten Holy Grail of Hungarian recipes tucked away in an old file of mine. Handwritten notes from my Mom and a card where she sat me down as a young bride and had me write out the directions as she made them. I hope I told her at the time how much I appreciated her doing that, but probably not. I figured she would always be the one making these pastries and she was the quintessential pastry chef!! But I am learning and I think I have the taste down pat! I think they looked a little sloppy but a dusting of powdered sugar hides a few minor defects. One thing I will add to notes is this------liberal dusting of flour while rolling out and keep dough chilled until ready to roll!!!!!!!!!!!!

April Fool's joke is on myself today. After telling my  sleeping husband there was snow outside, pointing out unlaced shoes to coworkers and more,  I glanced down and saw my turtleneck was inside out!!!! I decided to leave it that way------in honor of the day!
